A Study on Feeding of Pre-School Children With Full Fat Soybean Milk in Rural Area, Kangwon-do, Korea

Abstract
A study on feeding of pre-school children with full fat soybean milk in rural area was made to investigate the nutritive value of full fat soybean milk, which much cheaper than other protein foods and equivalent to animal protein for pre-school children in rural area in Korea.
The survey was conducted in Machang-Ri and Woodoo-Ri, Chunchun city, Kangwon-Do from April first to October 10th, 1970.
The height, weight and hemoglobin of 46 pre-school children (male; 23, female; 23) aged from 2 to 6 years.
The follwings are the main results:
1. Soybean scceptability and consumer adoptability were good except in very hot season of August.
2. The average height of the children in the main village was not found any improvement to the children in the control village.
3. The average weight and hemoglobin of the children in the main village were significantly higher in value as compared with children of the control village.
4. With a view to increasing protein suply cultivation of soybeans is desirable not only from the point of yield but also from a cost consideration and nutrition value.
